Oh Boy, Girls

Title is a pun about this whole transgender thingy moreso about Birdo, but about Vivian too.... And let me start things off with the fact that this whole recurring transgender, or "Birdo is a dude" thing really upsets me, as a fan. Birdo is female..... End of Story.

Now that that's been said... I know the facts. I've done my research. It is indeed true that the Birdo represented in the SMB2 manual was said to be male. But that is only one, of an ENTIRE SPECIES that was recorded to basically be a drag queen. That's like saying that all Collie dogs are ALL female because Lassie was a female Collie that had a television series. There is absolutely nothing proving that a Birdo that came from Mario's dream is the very same Birdo that has returned to be a tennis, baseball, double dash, Mario Party, etc. partner for Yoshi, as well as a seemingly temporary love interest to him as well. And since then, she has always been referred to as a female in all the instruction manuals, and player profiles given about the character. The SMB2 manual flat out said "He". So how on Earth would her gender be contested after they've clearly stated the Birdo we see with the ring, is a female Birdo? It wasn't until the internet blew up about all this transgender shit, that they started to throw in all this indeterminate gender, as stated in the SSBB trophy (Yet Melee's Birdo trophy clearly says "she"/"her"), and the sudden break up of Yoshi, and Birdo as a couple, and teammates, in games. They'd rather pair Yoshi with Toad(if Toadette isn't around), or a boring ass Koopa Troopa. You know..... the guys that Yoshi eats on a daily basis, since the days of Super Mario World. :m But yeah..... enough about Yoshi, there... Anyways, it's a shame that Birdo has to put up with all this shit...... But then Vivian who is said to be a male, who dresses and claims to be female, according to the Japanese version of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door , doesn't have to deal with any of the things Birdo has to deal with. There is no Vivian species(but is of a race called a Siren), like there is a Birdo species... Vivian is a particular character, with a particular name. She is considered female, outside of Japan, though. Why? I guess having weirdo guys that wanna be girls is extremely popular over in Japan, but it's not really accepted in games, outside of Japan, so they changed it to where she is in fact a female. If they can't get away with making female apparent male characters(aka transgender, not to be confused with transsexual ), then they make effeminate flamboyant male characters instead. Look at the Legend of Zelda series. It's FULL of them. :v Personally, I have no issues with characters being transgender, homosexual, "fruity", or whatever. But when a character ISN'T either of those things, but is suddenly being claimed as one of those things, it bugs the hell out of me.

Anyways.... thank a few youtube vids I watched for bringing this issue back up, and pissing me off on how ignorant some people can be about things. People are too lazy to research things, and just go by small tidbits of information to form an opinion, rather than look up the facts themselves.

Aaaaanyways.... hope y'all like, I guess. :m

ps- I'm not here to change what people wanna consider Birdo to be. I'm here to enlighten people on both sides about the facts, and my deduction of said facts.

I'm so glad for Birdo, she has gained a "renaissance" of sorts, and even a fanbase since this post!

Tho, sad that Vivian got mandated away in return.
