News, and a Collab

A simple little update on why art has been slow..... I wasn't going to say anything about it as I felt the issue would resolve itself, but it seems to be getting a bit worse as this month goes on. So it appears my USB ports are starting to crap out on my laptop. And for those who don't know why that's so important, I need my USB ports to plug in my drawing tablet, or my scanner to be able to work on stuff that I can later post, or send to people who commission non-postable things. And with that in mind, I'll admit I've also gotten a little lazy, cuz I don't feel like getting further frustrated with why my ports aren't working when I want them to. On rare occasions, my ports have decided that they want to work. Not sure if it's really because they are deteriorating, or that there's an application that isn't working all the time, when I start up my computer. But eventually, I'll find out what the problem is, and fix it for good. 

Anyways, I also got an idea for another group collab. Much like the Super Mario 3D World Cat Collab I did a while back.


This time, I want to do a Splatoon Inkling collab. :m I'll share details on that within the next day or so. But for now, I wanna throw out the idea, so people can prepare for it. I want to post it on May 29th, which is the US release date for Splatoon, in celebration of the 1 year anniversary. (It would be the 28th for Japan, but I'm not Japanese. :n )  That said, I'll need the entry submission cut off date to be something like May 23rd, so I have time to construct it, and fit in the people who send in Inkling drawings at the last minute. As I did with the Cat Collab, all the characters will be spread out, but this time, I'd like to include the game's logo so I don't have that empty patch of space at the bottom, while trying to fit people around the canvas. I may also have to reduce the size requirements cuz the last time I did this, it was murder on my laptop. It chugged about as slow as a thick molasses milk shake, cuz the file was so huge, and I had so many layers on the picture. :m So downsizing the character sizes will help with fitting in more characters, and less lag on my computer. Again, I'll post all the details in another journal, so do not work on a picture, and send it to me before then.
